The warranty period commences on the date when the vehicle is first invoiced. The Lexus Pre-owned Warranty* is valid for a minimum of 1-year/20,000 kms, whichever comes first. An extended warranty of 2-years/40,000 kms is also available and can be purchased separately. Repairs made under this warranty will be made at no cost to you. Except for excluded components (see below), this warranty covers any repair or replacement of components that fail under normal use due to a defect in materials or workmanship, such as: Engine, Transmission, Steering, Brakes (excluding brake pads and brake rotors), Fuel System, Engine Cooling, A/C and Heating systems, Electrical, Restraint Systems.
BASIC COVERAGE PERIOD
Lexus warrants that it will repair or replace any part of a new Lexus vehicle that is defective, in either material or workmanship, under normal use (with the exception of items listed under ‘Exclusions‘) for a period of the warranty. Original Manufacturer Warranty coverage is fully transferable to subsequent vehicle owner(s), excluding the extended warranty.
The Lexus warranty is only valid within the country to which the vehicle was originally exported by the manufacturer, and honored by the distributor or dealer whose name is stamped in the warranty booklet provided.
Repairs and adjustments required as a result of normal wear and tear or misuse, for example, racing, overloading, negligence, modification, alteration, tampering, disconnection, improper adjustments or repairs, accidents and use of add-on parts or materials.
Cosmetic or surface corrosion from stone chips or scratches in the paint are not covered. Damage or surface corrosion from the environment such as acid rain, airborne fall-out (chemicals or tree sap), salt, hail, windstorms, lightning and floods are not covered.
Tires, Batteries, Brake Pads, Brake Rotor, leather, rubber and plastics are all excluded from the warranty cover. In order for you to receive the benefits of this warranty cover, your Lexus vehicle must be maintained and serviced in accordance with the Lexus service schedule at an authorized Al-Futtaim Motors Service Centre. Any repair or maintenance carried out at an independent service center will invalidate the warranty.
LACK OF MAINTENANCE OR USE OF WRONG FUEL, OIL OR LUBRICANTS
Repairs and adjustments caused by improper maintenance or the use of fluids, parts or materials other than genuine Lexus or as specified in your Owner’s Manual is not covered.
MAINTENANCE AND REPLACEMENT OF WEAR AND TEAR ITEMS AT OWNER’S EXPENSE
Engine tune-up or lubrication, cleaning and polishing, replacement of filters, coolant, spark plugs, fuses, worn wiper blades, worn brake pads and rotors, worn clutch linings form part of normal maintenance requirements for all vehicles and are therefore not covered.
NORMAL NOISE, VIBRATION AND DETERIORATION
Normal noise, vibration, wear and tear or deterioration such as discoloration, fading, deformation due to age or mileage, are not covered.
The warranty is rendered void on any vehicle in which the odometer mileage has been tampered with in any way.
Incidental or consequential expenses or damage such as telephone calls, loss of time, inconvenience, or commercial loss in any way whatsoever are not covered.
You are responsible for properly operating, maintaining, and caring for your Lexus vehicle, with any authorized Lexus Al Futtaim workshop, in accordance to the instructions in your Owner’s Manual. If your vehicle is subject to use under severe driving conditions, you should follow the maintenance requirements specified in your Owner’s Manual. In addition, you are responsible for keeping maintenance records as it may be necessary in some instances for you to show that the required maintenance has been performed.
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE SERVICE
Proper maintenance will help to ensure maximum performance, greater reliability and longer life for your Lexus vehicle. To maintain your Lexus vehicle in optimum condition, and keep your warranty valid, it is important to have it inspected and serviced periodically in accordance with the maintenance services listed in your Owner’s Manual.
Your Lexus Owner’s Manual also contains a chart of required services and a section explaining maintenance items that you can handle yourself. The service schedule is the result of experience and testing and represents the most efficient and economical maintenance for your Lexus vehicle. More frequent service is required for severe driving conditions. In the event of an accident where body repair is required, repairs must be carried out at by an authorized dealer, failing which, the Manufacturer Warranty will be affected.
